4-Day Coastal & Safari Escape: Penguins, Whales, Wine & Wildlife

Depart from Cape Town or Stellenbosch via the breathtaking Clarence Drive, one of South Africa’s most scenic coastal routes.
Your first stop is Stony Point Nature Reserve in Betty’s Bay, home to a thriving colony of African penguins. Continue to Hermanus, famous for its land-based whale watching (seasonal: June–November). Spend the afternoon strolling the cliff paths or opt for an optional whale watching boat tour.

After breakfast, journey through the rolling hills of the Overberg to Botlierskop Private Game Reserve near Mossel Bay (approx. 3.5 hours).
Settle into your luxury tented or lodge accommodation, then embark on an exciting sunset safari. Spot rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and more as the sun dips below the horizon.

After a final morning in the reserve, travel inland to Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo.
Visit a working ostrich farm and learn about these fascinating birds, then explore the spectacular Cango Caves, a network of ancient limestone chambers. End the day with a local wine tasting at a nearby estate.

Overnight: Oudtshoorn

After breakfast, return to Cape Town via the iconic Route 62, known for its rugged mountain passes, fruit farms, and quirky roadside cafés. Arrive back in the late afternoon, filled with unforgettable memories of your Cape adventure.
